Derek’s vision was very poor and I thought he was too young to wear any type of contact. He was very active in sports and had him special sports goggles.
I was quite skeptical about corneal reshaping and had many questions in the beginning. I researched corneal reshaping and had even more questions. At every point, even when I was undecided, our doctor was always there to answer our questions. We eventually decided to try corneal reshaping lenses when Derek was 11 years old. He had trouble in the beginning getting fitted. He needed a much bigger lens and had to be fitted several times. We persevered and finally found the right ones for him and they work. He is so responsible and takes care of all the needs for the lenses except of course buying the cleaning solution.
Now, Derek is a sophomore in college! Derek still wears corneal reshaping lenses, almost 9 years later and is doing very well in every aspect.
I would recommend corneal reshaping to anyone thinking about going this route and research this technology.
